Composing a Life: Summer & Beyond -
We shall meet on Monday, 24 June at 10am and Wednesday, 26 June at 4pm to discuss the fiction of Wendell Berry. Three novels I recommend in particular are Hannah Coulter, Jayber Crow, and The Memory of Old Jack, but they are all wonderful.
In July we shall meet on Monday, 22 July at 10am and Wednesday, 24 July at 4pm to discuss How We Learn to be Brave: Decisive Moments in Life and Faith by Mariann Edgar Budde, Episcopal Bishop of Washington (184 pages).
In August we'll read The Four Things that Matter Most: A Book About Living by Ira Byock, M.D. (216 pages). We'll meet on 26 & 28 August at 10am and 4pm as usual.
In the Fall, we'll turn to Elaine Pagels in September (Why Religion: A Personal Story) and Atul Gawande in October (Being Mortal) and then have a break during November and December.
This group is open to all, so please consider joining us. And if you might be willing to lead one of the upcoming conversations, I'd love to hear from you.
